Grammar Checker With No Data Collection
LexiLint checks grammar and spelling on any webpage without collecting a single byte of your data. Spell checking runs 100% offline inside your browser. For AI grammar, your text goes directly to your chosen provider — LexiLint's servers never see it.
🤖 New: LexiLint for AI Assistants
Use LexiLint's spell and grammar checking directly in Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other AI assistants via the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
How Zero-Data Grammar Checking Works
Offline Spell Checking
US and UK English dictionaries are bundled inside the Chrome extension itself. When you click "Check Spelling", LexiLint scans the page entirely within your browser process. No DNS lookup. No network request. Zero bytes transmitted.
BYOK AI Grammar
AI grammar checking uses your own API key stored locally in Chrome's encrypted storage. When you run a grammar check, your browser sends the text directly to your chosen AI provider (Google Gemini, OpenAI, or Anthropic Claude). LexiLint never proxies or logs that request.
No Tracking, No Telemetry
LexiLint contains no usage tracking, no error reporting, and no analytics that send data about your browsing or writing activity. Your text is yours.
Local API Key Storage
Your API keys are stored in Chrome's built-in encrypted local storage. They are never synced to the cloud and never sent to Ignite App servers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a grammar checker that doesn't collect my data?
Yes. LexiLint is a Chrome extension built specifically for privacy. Spell checking runs 100% offline — no data leaves your device. AI grammar checking uses a BYOK model: your text goes directly from your browser to your chosen AI provider using your own API key. LexiLint's servers never see your content.
How does LexiLint spell check without an internet connection?
LexiLint bundles US and UK English dictionaries directly inside the Chrome extension. The spell checker runs entirely within your browser, comparing words against those local dictionaries. No network request is ever made for spell checking.
Does LexiLint send my text to any server?
For spell checking: never. For AI grammar checking: your text goes directly to the AI provider you configured (e.g., Google Gemini), using your own API key. LexiLint acts only as a local bridge in your browser. Ignite App's servers receive nothing.
What AI providers does LexiLint support?
LexiLint supports Google Gemini (free with BYOK), OpenAI (premium), and Anthropic Claude (premium). Each provider is accessed directly via your own API key. Local LLM support (100% offline AI grammar) is coming soon.
Is AI grammar checking completely free?
AI grammar checking with Google Gemini is free forever when you bring your own API key (Google offers a generous free tier). OpenAI and Anthropic Claude providers require a LexiLint Premium subscription. Spell checking is always free with no API key needed.
