1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Ignite App's website (https://igniteapp.net) or any of our products (including LexiLint browser extension), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Services Overview

Ignite App provides productivity tools with a focus on privacy and user control. Our current offerings include:

LexiLint Browser Extension

A Chrome browser extension that helps users proofread rendered webpages by checking spelling and, optionally, grammar.

• Free features: On-device spell checking for US and UK English variants
• Optional AI grammar: Google Gemini support in the free LexiLint tier using an API key you provide; provider access and charges are subject to Google's terms
• Premium features: OpenAI and Anthropic provider support plus six additional languages

We may add additional products and services in the future. These terms apply to all current and future Ignite App offerings unless otherwise specified.

3. Accounts & Registration

Email Collection

We may collect your email address when you:

• Join a waitlist for upcoming features or products
• Purchase a product or service
• Contact us for support or feedback

Your Responsibilities

When providing information to us, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Update your information if it changes
• Use a valid email address that you have access to
• Not impersonate others or provide false information

4. Products & Pricing

Free Tier

LexiLint currently includes offline spell checking for US and UK English variants at no charge. Free features and pricing may change as described below.

Optional AI Grammar

The free LexiLint tier supports Google Gemini when you provide your own API key. Google controls API eligibility, limits, billing requirements, and availability. Free features:

• Are provided "as is" without warranties
• May contain bugs or errors
• May change or be discontinued without notice
• May have limited availability or performance issues

Premium Version

LexiLint Premium is available for:

• Lifetime access: $29.99 one-time payment
• Monthly subscription: $2.99/month with 7-day free trial (cancel anytime)

What's included:

• OpenAI provider support (BYOK; provider charges apply)
• Anthropic provider support (BYOK; provider charges apply)
• Six additional languages: Spanish, French, German, Polish, Russian, and Turkish
• Priority email support

Payment Processing

Premium purchases are processed through Polar.sh (powered by Stripe).

• Secure checkout with Stripe
• License key delivered via email instantly
• License keys sync across all your Chrome browsers
• We never see your payment information

7-Day Free Trial (Monthly Subscription Only)

Each new monthly subscription starts with a 7-day free trial:

• Trial access: Premium features, languages, and supported AI providers are available during the trial
• Cancel during the trial: Cancel before the trial expires to prevent the first monthly charge
• Paid renewal: Unless canceled, the subscription converts to $2.99/month when the trial ends and renews monthly
• Cancel after a monthly charge: Cancellation stops the next renewal; Premium access continues through the end of the billing period already paid for
• No prorated refunds: Canceling during a paid month does not produce a partial-month refund
• BYOK required: You must provide your own API keys for supported AI providers

Note: Lifetime purchases do not include the monthly subscription trial. Current lifetime refund terms are described in Section 5.

5. Refunds & Cancellations

Monthly Subscription Cancellation

You can cancel a monthly subscription at any time:

• During the 7-day trial: Cancel before the trial expires to prevent the first charge
• After the trial: Cancellation stops the next renewal, but Premium remains available until the end of the billing period already paid for
• No prorated refunds: We do not refund the unused portion of a paid monthly billing period

Lifetime Purchases

Lifetime purchases are final and non-refundable.

• No trial: Consider starting with a monthly subscription to test premium features first
• No refunds: All lifetime sales are final

Free Products

Free features (like offline spell checking) have no refund terms as there is no purchase involved.

6. User Responsibilities

Lawful Use

You agree to use our services only for lawful purposes. You will not:

• Use our services to violate any laws or regulations
• Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or compromise our systems
• Distribute malware or harmful code through our services
• Abuse or overload our systems
• Resell or redistribute our services without permission
• Use our services to harm, harass, or violate the rights of others

API Key Management

If you use features that require API keys (like AI grammar checking):

• Your responsibility: You are solely responsible for obtaining, securing, and managing your API keys
• Usage costs: Any costs incurred from API usage are your responsibility
• Security: Keep your API keys confidential and secure
• Compliance: You must comply with the terms of service of your chosen API provider

Your Data

You own all data you create or store using our services, including:

• Custom dictionary words you add
• Settings and preferences
• Any content you check with our tools

7. Third-Party Services

Our services integrate with or rely on third-party services. By using our services, you acknowledge and agree that:

AI Providers

When using AI grammar checking, your text is sent directly to the provider selected with your API key. Currently supported providers are:

• Google Gemini (free LexiLint tier; Google controls API eligibility, limits, and charges)
• OpenAI (LexiLint Premium; OpenAI API charges apply)
• Anthropic (LexiLint Premium; Anthropic API charges apply)

Your responsibility: Review and comply with each provider's terms of service and privacy policy.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics on our website to understand how visitors use our site. See our Privacy Policy for details.

MailerLite

We use MailerLite to manage email waitlists. By joining a waitlist, you agree to receive email notifications from us about the product you're interested in.

Chrome Web Store

LexiLint is distributed through the Chrome Web Store. Your use of the Chrome Web Store is subject to Google's Terms of Service.

Error Logging

The current LexiLint extension does not send remote error reports. Errors may appear in the browser's local developer console.

Versions 1.1.0 through 1.1.3 used Sentry for error monitoring. Sentry was removed in version 1.1.4. See the Privacy Policy for current details.

No Liability for Third Parties

We are not responsible for the actions, content, or policies of third-party services. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk.

8. Intellectual Property

Our Property

Ignite App and LexiLint, including all software, designs, text, graphics, logos, and other content, are owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute our software or content without permission
• Remove copyright notices or branding from our products
• Use our trademarks or logos without written permission

Your Property

You retain ownership of:

• Custom dictionary words you create
• Content you check using our services
• Any data you generate while using our products

Chrome™ and Google™ are trademarks of Google LLC. Ignite App and LexiLint are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google LLC.

9. Software Warranties & Disclaimers

LexiLint is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. While we strive to provide reliable service:

Service Availability

• Features may not always work as expected
• We may change, modify, or discontinue features with notice when possible
• Performance may vary based on your device and internet connection

Data Protection

• While we implement security measures to protect your data, we recommend backing up important custom dictionary entries
• We are not liable for any data loss due to software errors, updates, or uninstallation

Feedback

We welcome your feedback. By providing feedback, you grant us the right to use your suggestions to improve our products without compensation or attribution.

10. Limitations of Liability

AI Suggestions May Be Incorrect

Our AI grammar checking feature provides suggestions that may contain errors. You should:

• Review all suggestions before accepting them
• Not rely solely on AI suggestions for critical content
• Understand that AI can make mistakes in grammar, style, or context

No Guarantee of Accuracy

While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that:

• All spelling or grammar errors will be found
• Suggestions will always be correct or appropriate
• Our services will meet your specific needs

Use at Your Own Risk

You use our services at your own risk. We are not responsible for:

• Errors or omissions in content you publish after using our services
• Business losses resulting from missed errors
• Damage to your reputation from published content
• Technical issues with your device or browser
• Issues arising from third-party services we integrate with

Maximum Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of our services is limited to the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months before the claim arose.

11. Disclaimers & Warranties

"AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE"

Our services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Warranties of merchantability
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• Accuracy or reliability of results

No Uptime Guarantees

We do not guarantee:

• That our services will always be available
• That our services will be free from bugs or errors
• That our services will meet your expectations
• That data will never be lost (though we work hard to prevent it)

Service Interruptions

We may interrupt services for:

• Maintenance and updates
• Emergency repairs
• Technical issues beyond our control

We will try to provide advance notice when possible, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

Good Faith Negotiations

Informal Resolution

Before pursuing any formal legal action, both parties agree to:

• Communicate clearly about the issue
• Attempt to resolve the matter through discussion

These terms will be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Specific jurisdiction information will be added once our business entity is formally registered.
